Setting-Up the Nintendo Wii

So you've finally bought your new Nintendo Wii. As soon as you take the game console from the box, you need to set it up so that you can immediately play with the various Wii games. If you have no idea how to set up the Nintendo Wii, read on.

The very first thing that you have to do is to determine how you want the Wii to be placed. You can have the Wii vertically or horizontally mounted. But before anything else, you have to consider the entertainment center. You must be able to place the Nintendo Wii in a place where you can keep it cool.  If you want to place the Wii vertically, place the Nintendo Wii together with the packaging in a control plate.

After deciding the consoles orientation, you can now plug the unit into the television and the socket. Check the televisions visual and audio connectors. You must plug the Nintendo Wiis appropriate cords into the TV.

After that, take out Wii AC adapter. Plug it in the socket and then to the back of the game console. Your console now has power. If ever you're going to take the Nintendo Wii to Europe, it must have the right AC adapter. The unit can be permanently damaged if you plug it wrong.

If you've already connected the Wii to the TV and the power is on, you have to plug in the Wii sensor bar. Locate the right jack and then plug in the cord. Find an appropriate spot for the bar so that the controllers are properly oriented. The controllers will pick up infrared emitters from the sensor bar so make sure that the spot is not obstructed. Choose a spot that is in the middle of the TV.

If you follow these steps, you can set up your Wii in no time. If you find it hard to do all these things, ask help from someone who knows. Perhaps your friend or a relative has a Nintendo Wii. Ask him or her how the unit was installed. If you purchased the Wii from a local store, the store may be able to send a staff that can set up the unit for you. If you purchased it online, there is no problem because if you simply follow the set-up instructions, you will soon be finished.

Read the users manual so that you know that you're on the right track. If you carefully read the instructions, you can quickly play with the many Wii games.
